The Sangam College of Nursing and the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital have signed collaborative partnership through a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
Through this partnership, Sangam College of Nursing and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital will work together to develop greater cooperation, understanding, strategic alliance and partnership with the goal of serving and making a difference in multiple capacities.
The specific focus of the partnership agreement will be to identify, educate, train and deploy nurses in the specialist field of pediatric cardiac care. This upskilling of nurses will be done through the offering of scholarships by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital to the graduate students of the Sangam Nursing College.
The signing of the agreements was done by Chairman of both organisations Mr. Amraiya Naidu and Mr. Sumeet Tappoo.
Chairman of Sangam College of Nursing, Mr. Amraiya Naidu said they are grateful and honoured to partner with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital.
“The utopian service done by the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital and Sai Prema Foundation and their model of love, compassion and service is something that deserves to be recognised and applauded. Their work in the medical field has transformed healthcare in Fiji and we are indeed very happy to have this collaborative partnership whereby the two organisations can work together to train and upskill nurses”, said Mr. Amraiya Naidu.
Mr. Naidu also added that the Sangam College of Nursing was looking forward to a long-term partnership with the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital and Sai Prema Foundation Fiji for the benefit of the entire nation.
The Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, Mr. Sumeet Tappoo said that he looks forward to all the wonderful outcomes that this partnership will bring in the coming times.
“During my discussions with Mr. Naidu and his team, we both agreed that the core intrinsic values of both organisations were in harmony and aligned to each other. This made it very easy for our partnership to formalise and I very much look forward to the day when our plans materialise whereby the nurses are granted training scholarships in pediatric cardiac care at our children’s hospital. Not only will it upskill our nurses but it will ensure that our entire nation benefits as it will uplift the standard of healthcare for our people”, said Mr. Sumeet Tappoo.
Mr. Sumeet Tappoo also spoke about the long-term vision of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital
“Our long-term vision is to have a Fijian team at Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, and this is one step towards that direction”, added Mr. Tappoo.
The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital is South Pacific’s first state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac super-speciality hospital where all surgeries, treatments and services are completely free of charge. Over 240 life-saving heart surgeries have been performed completely free of charge and over 13,500 free echocardiograms have been conducted.
